Shedding
Here’s what you need to know about shedding: our rugs don’t and won’t shed. Remember, they’re not tufted, they’re knitted.
Excess fibers from manufacture are perfectly normal and must not be confused with shedding. Any amount of fluffs can settle on top of the rug as it’s made. You may find some noticeable “hangers on” where the rug was cut for its shape, but once these have been shaken off, your rug will not produce its own loss. If you pull on the fibers, micro fibers will come away in your hand. This is normal for any fur item real or faux and does not constitute ‘shedding 'which is basically the “falling out” of tufts.
Oeko•Tex 100
Oeko-Tex was established in 1992. Its goal: to test a textile’s manufacture from beginning to end for harmful substances. Certification ensures a product that poses no risk whatsoever to human health (ecology). Testing a product from beginning to end means there were no short-cuts by any of the manufacturers involved with the production of our items.

- boicidal finishes flame retardent finishes

- emission of volatiles

Oeko•Tex 1000 is specific to a production site (factory). Evaluated and certified are chemical usage and handling, water usage and disposal, exhaust air production, dust and noise generation, energy usage and general workplace conditions. The production site must also have an environmental management system in place in order to be compliant.
Shipping For free shipping, shipments must be to physical delivery addresses in the 48 contiguous United States only. Shipments to PO Boxes, AK and HI will incur an additional fee.
Rug Care
Faux Fur Rug Care
Don’t be hasty to throw these in the wash. Dirt sits atop the fibers, so frequent and vigorous shaking is the best way to keep your rug clean and fluffed. Do not vacuum unless you have a special machine or attachments. Do not dry clean. Do not iron.
All rugs are machine washable at 30˚. gentle cycle, short spin, line dry recommended. Brush lightly whilst damp with a soft, nylon bristle pet brush.
Felt Ball Rug care
At Happy as Larry, we pride ourselves on using the finest and most eco friendly materials to bring you the beautiful product you see today. Each felt ball rug is handcrafted from 100% New Zealand wool. The process of felting each ball is both time consuming and difficult. The wool is first hand dyed in Azo free dyes and then rinsed with soap and water. The rinsing process causes the wool to felt or bind together. These balls are then dried and hand stitched together to make your rug. Wool is a natural flame retardant and holds up well to daily wear and tear. Our rugs are made from New Zealand wool which gives it a soft and superior feel.
How to clean your Happy as Larry rug:

Wool naturally repels dirt and liquid, making it relatively easy to clean. Your rug can be well maintained through regular vacuuming and shaking. You may notice some fine dust particles under your rug; these particles are from the felting process and will soon dissipate.
The rugs should not be placed in wet areas. If liquid spills onto the rug, try to shake off the liquid as quickly as possible. Then using a damp cloth, dab up any excess fluid. You may also use soapy water. Do not soak the balls or rub violently, as this may damage the rug.
If you are unable to remove a stain or the entire rug needs a thorough cleaning, it is recommended that you use a professional carpet & upholstery cleaning company. As with all handmade rugs, your rug is not 100% color fast. Professional cleaners should use low water pressure and clean on a non-porous surface. While utmost care is taken to make sure all the balls are secure and intact we recommend checking for any loose balls. If a ball becomes loose, re-tie the knot tightly. A simple nylon thread and needle can easily fix loose balls. We hope you enjoy your rug for many year to come!
